FINISHED
The project GREEN PERSPECTIVE will be carried out in Lendava and surrounding villages. In this area we are facing with the highest unemployment rate among young people in Slovenia. In spite of unused fertile soil and beautiful landscape there are many unemployed young people with no ambition or skills to take advantage of existing opportunities (such as the development of eco-tourism in rural areas).
Therefore we want to achieve the following objectives in the project:
- Increase the visibility of youth employment opportunities in rural areas
- Contribute to increasing popularization and attractiveness of entrepreneurial paths of young people in rural areas
- To educate young people who want to succeed in the countryside with practical content
- Prepare an effective and realistic model of green tourism in rural areas
- Promote of Program Erasmus + ( Youth mobility )
The project will include two volunteers from Spain, at the age of 18-30 years. To select the suitable candidates, we will pay a lot of attention to the high motivation of participants for the content of the project. Their voluntary service will last 10 months.
Project activities include the participation of volunteers, unemployed young people, professionals, teams & EcoCulture Lendava and some other organizations. We will motivate young people through tours of best practices ( 4x) and through full-day workshops at permaculture farm ( 10x), where they will learn the basic principles of organic gardening / farming. Through lectures (6x) will learn the basics of entrepreneurship and eco-tourism. Volunteers will prepare a business plan for eco-tourism product (1x) and prepare presentations for target audiences at public events (4x). Volunteers will also carry out an individual project of their own choice (2x) and contribute to the promotion of the Erasmus + (Youth mobility) on various occasions (4x).
For the basic method in the implementation of project activities we will use informal learning of volunteers in different work environments and situations with different groups of people. New key competence will volunteers acquired through various learning opportunities. Visits of good practice, lectures and workshops will give an opportunity to volunteers to create a broader idea of eco - tourism in the countryside, to obtain the information, to learn, to explore, to identify ... In the preparation of the business plan they will face with testing, checking, analyzing, participating, observing ... For the promotion and dissemination of the purpose, content and results of the project and the Erasmus + (Youth Mobility) methods of presentation and explanation will be used.
Implementation of the project will have an impact on the social, emotional and spiritual development of volunteers. They will become more independent, responsible, confident and mature persons with molded attitudes and values. They will gain new knowledge, skills, attitudes and knowledge in specific area, and thereby they will increase its value and attractiveness of the European labor market.
The project will have a positive impact on work of EcoCulture Lendava and contribute to the enrichment of the activities of the Institute. The project also encourages greater cross-cultural tolerance and integration of young people. Project will Increase the visibility of the program Erasmus + within the local community and through help the media in general in region Pomurje.
The project will stimulate the creativity and entrepreneurial start-up at rural area for unemployed young people. It will contribute to their greater entrepreneurial ambitions in the field of eco - tourism in rural areas and increasing their employability.
We also expect some long-term benefits of the project. The project could encourage the positive attitude of the local community for the development of eco-tourism and to increase support for young people. The long-term impact of the project could also be a greater financial incentive for local authorities in the development of eco-tourism for unemployed young people.
Eco-tourism in rural areas is a trend in the world, therefore the project can have a positive impact on the entire region and its development as a green oasis. Geographical location and natural attributes of the landscape are ideal tourist destination. Those advantages together with ecological content and entrepreneurial potential of young people should bring a large and relatively quick success.
The project also strengthens the sense of European citizenship because in that kind of intercultural project national frameworks are usually exceeded and European identity is awakened. Unemployment among young people is a big issue at the moment in Europe, so they will find common goals. On the other hand, we are addressing ecology and rural development, which is, from the perspective of the experts, the future of young generation in Europe.
