Youth exchange 27.7.-3.8.2014 in Kontiolahti, North Karelia, Finland. Partisipants from Finland, Croatia and Portugal (Madeira). Each country have 8 (14-19 years old) partisipants and one leader (Finland 2 leaders). Youth exchange is called "Green Karelia", which tells about our theme and describes nature of North Karelia. One of the main target in our project is individual choices and influence of nature, and how to protect biodiversity of nature. Working methods: team work, working by them self, handcraft, learning by doing, lectures, mind maps, and talking with croup. Activities: Paddling, working shops, hiking and camping (in tents), Finnish nature and forrest, cultural learning (games, and way to do things), visit in Joensuu wastewater treatment plant, and Youth house in Kontiolahti. During our project partisipants will learn: Cultural learning: Cultural knowledge, prejudice, tolerance, language skills, courage to speak. Self learning: self esteem, self confidence, sosial skills, new friendships, initiative, weekday control, Partisipants also learn: individual choices and influence in nature, What can I do? biodiversity of nature, creative recycling, ecologigal thinking and wilderness skills.
