In the society of today the emotional, personal development of young people is not a well managed process, the education focuses mainly on theoretical knowledge, neglecting the emotional maturity.
Our exchange entitled ” GraduaCtion” intends to bring together 35 people: 7 youth leaders and 28 participants who are graduating form university or graduated in the year before from 7 European countries -France, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey- to Sovata, Romania, for a strong personal development program, in order to increase their opportunities in finding their place in the labor market, to strengthen their basic competences for increasing their efficiency.
The program will focus on the development of self confidence, initiative taking, decision making, teamwork, motivation, reliability, problem solving, adaptability, planning and organizing, communication, integrity, stress tolerance.
The youth exchange will be organized between 8-16 February, 2016.
Through the project we will contribute to the fight, against unemployment, against burn-out, through their participation the participants will get more self-aware, will get to know better themselves, will be more able to assertively keep their mental health on a good level.
The method we use is experiential education. The activities will be metaphors of their personal and future working life , they will be put in situations which will make them to analyze and to develop their communication skills, their attitude, their behavior especially when working together with other people.
The participants will gain an experience working in an intercultural team and and they will learn about the different European cultures, differences and similarities between cultures.
The main activities of the program will be: ice-breakers, problem-solving activities, snow-shoes expedition, debriefing blocks, igloo building, ropes course activities, volunteer day, connected with self-sell ("selling" my services to the locals) also on the last days HR specialist will be invited and will teach the participants about how to apply for a job, CV writing, how to prepare themselves for an interview.
We expect that through the project the core skills of the participants will get developed, their opportunities for finding their right place in the labour marker will grow.
In long term we wish to carry out more projects of this type and we are working on sensibilizeing the society on the importance of the non-formal education.
