KEAN will host an international training course “Good Travelers” on Zakinthos island, Greece in June 2015 with the aim of improving the quality of life and traveling with a focus on the protection of the environment in sensible areas. The project “Good Travelers” will create awareness about environmental issues in sensible coastal areas, provide an international platform for finding better practices and ideas for the use of natural resources, and provide a space to discuss about sustainable growth and alternative ways of traveling. 28 participants from 7 countries (Estonia, Turkey, Italy, Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal and Greece) will come together for a week to learn, share experience and therefore to gain knowledge of and promote civic activism, good habits, participation and activism in local, European and international level. Non- formal learning methods will be used to combine the best theory and practice and to keep the project activities interactive and diverse. Therefore we will have group work, games, outdoor activities, study visits, seminars, contact making events, discussion, reflection time.The main goal of “Good travelers” is to give an experience of sustainable way of traveling and understand the concept of alternative form of sustainable tourism. Thus, the participants of the training course will understand critical environmental issues and disseminate good practices in order to become more aware of healthy behaviors in sensible areas and create a framework of necessary environmental knowledge to make a positive long-term impact.
