Please briefly describe the festival edition for which a MEDIA support is sought, including the objectives and expected results (In English, maximum 25 lines).Göteborg Film Festival (GFF) is the leading international film festival in Scandinavia, and one of the largest audience festivals in the world. GFF will present its 40th edition on January 27 - February 6, 2016.The objective for the festival is to continue to bring the best international films to the Scandinavian audience and industry as well as to be the number one platform in the world for promoting and screening the most recent films from the five Nordic countries. The expected result of the 40th edition is to maintain or increase the 130 000 admissions to screening and an overall audience of 160 000. The same goes for the 1800 industry, talent and media representatives visiting the festival. And to present a diverse and high quality programme around 430 relevant films from all over the world. The objective is to maintain the high representation of European works.During the 40th edition we will continue to put extra care in displaying and promoting our Nordic Competition, Dragon Award Best Nordic Film, with the mission to attract even more audience and media attention to the fact that we host one of the worlds largest and most important film awards and as a result of that help promote Nordic films even further. We will also continue to develop actions towards the Industry to strengthen the platforms we have for developing talents and to promote new European works.
