God with us? Religious Identities and Youth Participation

Right after the last shocking terroristic attack of religious origin at the "Charlie Hebdo"'s newspaper, Europe must get involved in a reflection about its inclusion and integration policies and about its relationship with an entity that claims its own community identity based on a religious belonging and that legitimate with religion its violent actions. The project "God with us? Religious Identities and Youth Participation" wants to forward an anlysis and a reflection about the role of religion in the contemporary society. The young participants will question about which is the original motivation of their social engagment and thier active participation in the society, with the aim of discussing about which are the founding values of the European Community today.
The specific objectives of the project are:
1 - to share and develop new working tools for project development and non formal learning with youth, on the following themes: religious identity, interreligious and intercultural dialogue, relationship between religion and laicality, responsible participation, active citizienship, conflict managment, social inclusion;
2 - to offer networking and new international partnership opportunities which will be able to involve Programme and Partner countries, by sharing challenges, questions and contributions that each organisations could bring considering everyone' social and historical background and mission;
3 - to increase young participants' transversal and technical skills and competences, and to promote the recognition of these competences, both at a national and European level;
4 - to promote the meeting between participants of long and short terms mobilities (Youth Exchanges, Trainings and EVS) within Erasmus +, through communication opportunities and the sharing of experiences.
The partnership for this project mainly benefits of previous collaborations and moreover of a proven experience in these fields, and it includes 8 social organisations:

The project will involve 73 participants: 59 young people aged between 17 and 30, and 14 youth workers, from 7 countries: 4 EU countries (Italy, France, Romania, Hungary), 1 from a Non EU Programme country (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), and 2 Partner countries neighbouring the EU (Georgia and Ukraine).
5 interconnected activies are included in this project:
- 1 Training and networking activity: 16 youth workers from all partners (8 countries) who will meet in Italy
- 1 Youth Exchange activity: 54 young people from 6 countries who will meet in Georgia
- 2 European Voluntary Service: 5 young people from 3 countries who will do their EVS in Italy
- 1 Advance Planning Visit
Young participants will have the opportunity to increase their skills and competences for their future occupability, both at European and international level, also through the participation to other opportunities within Erasmus +.
The project will give the youth workers the opportunity to establish and to strengthen new transnational partnerships, and to increase the competences which can be used in their daily work.
Dissemination's activities will be a key element of the project, aimed to reach a critical mass of over 500 people (youngsters, children, families, old people/disabled, immigrants):interviews, movies projections, creation and sperimentation of a new role game connected to the project's theme.
