“Global Leaders” aims to increase the number of youth involved in international projects and exchange experiences provided by AIESEC in Iceland. We believe the world needs new types of leaders and as an organization we try to engage young people to that they can become better versions of themselves and the global responsible individuals the world craves for. The main goals of our project are: - Increase the awareness about international opportunities, available for Icelandic students (AIESEC internships, EVS, exchange, Erasmus, etc.) and Icelandic companies - Stimulate awareness and reflection on differences and similarities in values between different cultures, as a starting point for sharing good case practices and project ideas - Stimulating young people creativity and entrepreneurial /leadership spirit The overall goal of Global Leaders was to engage in cross cultural experiences for the volunteers and the environment around them. Out of 6 expected volunteers only 3 arrived in Iceland. Through guidance we were able to immerse them in the Icelandic environment while allowing them to practice basic skills and enjoy the Icelandic culture. On the other hand, it was a goal to introduce the volunteers to Icelandic students so that they would be able to learn about other cultures and understand the importance of globalization, the changing world around them.
