We intend to work strategically with education for sustainable development through participation in "Learning Teacher Network" (LTN) training in Edinburgh and in Malta named; Education for Sustainable Development and The Global Classroom".
LTN is a well acknowledged network for everyone involved in school improvement issues surrounding sustainable development. The project will start in this spring 2015 when six key persons in our organisation will be recruited. Moreover, we will have preparatory workshops where the conference theme, Education for Sustainable Development and Global Education is defined and problematized . Everyone involved in the project has a clear and broad connection to their colleagues in order to spread their new competences.
Our overall goal of this project is :
Increased knowledge in the subject area, that is ecological, social and economic perspectives within the organization
Increased intercultural skills and tolerance regarding diversity issues.
Increasing convergence of internationalization and sustainability issues.
Increased knowledge in what competences and skills are necessary in order to meet a global labour market.
Increased action competence as regards sustainable development nationally and globally.
Our target group are teachers, and pupils from Upper Secondary school.
In the long term , the aims are as follows:
Get new ideas and resources, and improving skills in order to promote education for sustainable development at The Nyköping's Secondary School and the students in lower classes in our surroundings. Moreover we will attempt to collaborate with the Secondary School named Nyköpings högstadium.
Network and share best practice with a variety of partners from different educational contexts within Europe
Introducing E -Twinning, E-pals for all teachers at Nyköpings gymnasium.
