Giving voice to young people about European Union issues

“Giving voice to young people about European Union issues” (EU Radio) is a project that seeks to give voice to 18 young Europeans (16 to 22 years old) from Bulgaria, Italy and Spain. The project will take the form from a radio program, in order to give voice to young people in the following issues: (1) migration/refugees; (2) political participation; (3) economic crisis; (4) anti-Europeanism; and (5) EU in the world.The generation of radio programs where young people can express their views on major European issues pursues the following: (1) increase their sense of belonging to the European Union (European citizenship and European values); (2) empower them to be active civic-political agents in their communities; (3) increase their successfully integration into European society and the EU labor market; (4) propose solutions to the problems that the European Union and youth face nowadays.In order to achieve all this, the project includes the implementation of a youth exchange in Salamanca (Spain). The exchange will be implemented fully in the context of a radio studio (developing various types of radio programs: editorials, news, interviews, radio spots, magazines and opinion). At the same time, will be applied transversely the following methodologies: non-formal education, experience-based learning, structured dialogue and Youthpass.In addition, the project will have an open, digital, interactive and systematic web page, in order to store in one site all the materiales of the project: “EU Radio Experience Book”, “EU Radio Audiovisual Album”, “EU Radio Evaluation”. This material will contain the following: radio programs, audiovisual material, outcomes, outputs, good practices. This material/contents will allow the following. First, get to an audience at various levels (local, regional, European and international). Second, to inspire young Europeans, youth workers and youth organizations who are interested in the project themes and the Erasmus + Programme. Thanks to this project and all the previous points, is expected to enhance the Erasmus+ Programme as a tool that enables the construction of a more inclusive Europe.
