The project will take place mainly at the ‘Anemoni’ – Day Care Center for Spastic and Handicapped Children (EL: 2013-CY-6) but also at the cultural workshop Politistiko Ergastiri Agion Omoloyiton, both located in quiet and historical neighbourhoods near the centre of  Cyprus’ capital and largest city, Nicosia. Although still the only divided European city, recent years have seen a renewed interest in urban regeneration and an increasing cultural diversity. This EVS project will partly take place at the cultural workshop Agion Omoloyiton. The old building is strongly bonded to the cultural neighborhood where it is located. The volunteers will assist during events and festivals as well organizing activities involving the children from the both organizations – Politistiko Ergastiri and Anemoni. The second part of this EVS project, the main part, will be hosted by the Anemoni house which is specially designed for the needs of handicapped children. Here, the volunteer’s tasks will involve assistance during the activities and developing workshops for children , as well as taking care of the yard and the building in order to create a more friendly and happy environment for the children.
