Give me five 2014!
Start date: Oct 1, 2014,
End date: Sep 30, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
The project consisted of two kinds of mobilities.
The first one was the one for our students going to Austria. One of the vocational schools in Klagenfurt prepared a fortnight mobility: the first week it acted as an agent by organizing work experience in companies for our students of telecommunications and economics, whereas our students spent the second week attending classes and doing projects with Austrian students.
Eleven students and two accompanying teachers participated in the mobility.
These were the goals of the mobility:
- to give meaning to learning at school
- to improve the knowledge of foreign language by means of practical conversation in Austrian companies
- to acknowledge the results according to the system ECVET
- to experience better chances of employment due to this experience
- to encourage learners to meet new challenges in order to progress on a personal level, providing them opportunities to integrate into society as active and tolerant individuals, improving their chance to get a job. Practical experience abroad is meant to help reaching this goal, concerning the fact that the programme of work experience was really well prepared and innovative.
- to brush up the participants’ knowledge of foreign languages: students were made to use German and English for two weeks
- to broaden the participants’ minds in order to understand other cultures and countries by providing opportunities of international networks of links, active participation in society and the awareness of being European nationality and feeling part of its identity, all as a consequence of choosing a good international partner organisation.
- to make the organisations active in the field of education more capable, appealing and internationally widespread by identifying the necessities and presenting our European development plan
- to strengthen synergies and passages in vocational education, employment and entrepreneurship – students will have work experience in an employer’s company and thus get to know the meaning of links and our school will stay connected to all Austrian companies which will provide our students their work experience
- to ensure better acknowledgement of competences gained abroad, which will be possible by ECVET system, used with all our students.
Students-participants of mobility were selected according to the preliminary presentation of the project and their role in participating in mobility dedicated to design youth personality in European community and improve possibilities for employment outside the borders of a home country. The committee of three members chose 11 applications among all the filled ones. It took into account students’ school success, their communication skills, enthusiasm to participate in working process and their vision of being part of the project.
Students came from various social environments.
The following activities were carried out as part of mobility:
- work experience for an employer ( a week)
- active participation in class at the partner’s school and help with learning Slovene language ( a week)
- connecting young people from different cultural environments with different spoken languages
- strengthening of national awareness
- getting to know the meaning of Slovenians living in neighbouring countries
- getting to know historical and cultural attractions of Austrian Koroško region
As a result of mobility students made a bilingual dictionary (Slovene-German) of Shrove Tuesday (our students were in Klagenfurt at that time of the year), they made reports of work for their employers, they shot a short film about activities during the time of mobility (they were helped with the students of our partner school), they made a PP presentation of participants, they made reports of their impressions. We reached our goals. The students obtained work experience. The results could be noticed also in their personal growth and their readiness to work in a different environment, their tolerance to accept people who think and live differently than they do.
The second mobility was the one of teachers at the partner school in Berlin – OSZ IMT. Three teachers took part – two of them covering the field of electronic communications and marketing and one who works as a German teacher.
The goals of mobility were the following:
- to get to know German School System
- to get to know new teaching methods
- to get to know the methods of teaching foreign languages to refugees
- to cooperate with the partner school concerning the exchange of students
- to find a way to cooperate in equipping classrooms for practical classes
- to show how classes are done in specialised classrooms
- to get to know the nation that embraces many different cultures.
The mobility of students consisted of the following activities.
- active participation during classes at partner school
- presentation of ŠC PET to the partner school ( in German language)
- exchange of
