PROJECT
FINISHED
Ten girls and two leaders from each of the participating countries Iceland and Germany will spend nine days together in Germany. “Girls4Girls – (no) limits for girls” includes aspects of personal development with topics as: Where are my limits? Who sets my boundaries? How can I overcome them? These questions are transferred into different domains of life: Family, work, society, living in rural areas. The goal of equal opportunities of men and women are essential parts of these sectors and will be thoroughly illuminated. This reflected process of meeting different personalities and each other’s cultures will enable the participants to explore similarities and differences between Germany and Iceland. The participants are empowered by creating, shaping and managing their own youth exchange. In addition to the process development within the group, visits of institutions, which work with women, are on the schedule. The participants will work on surveys on the role and situation of women. Moreover the girls will learn to take their first steps in using nonviolent communication (M.Rosenberg).As a follow up, participants will initiate a dialogue with school intendants, politicians and press in order to disseminate the results of the programme. It is also anticipated that the girls inform peers and teachers through presentations on gender equality at their schools. The second step of this project will be a youth exchange in Iceland 2017.
