“It is something to be able to paint a particular picture, or to carve a statue, and so to make a few objects beautiful; but it is far more glorious to carveand paint the very atmosphere and medium through which we look, which morally we can do. To affect the quality of the day - that is the highest of arts“- Henry David ThoreauIn this project we want to reflect on our Europe in crisis. About the crises of recent years and the problems they bring with them in present and future. Participants will learn how to conquer public and actively shape it. They’ll learn how to express opinions in creative and artistic projects and make them visible. Visible and accessible for others. Participants and their ideas for are going to be stumbling blocks in public life and draw attention to the current issues of our time and realities in Europe.Artistic expressions will take place in 3 dimensions and each will have the destination have to create a metaphor for the "House of Europe". Together with artists and the team of the EHM, the youngsters will rebuild the "waste-land" Europe. In 3 "houses" various aspects of life in solidarity in Europe are represented. The young people will design European dystopias and utopias and realize this architectural in the third dimension. The materials or objects that are processed and shaped here are wood, steel and paper. The wood is so built that it again will amalgamate with nature and will fit into the woodland. A caravan - which after the project will be travelling through the partner countries - turns into the space for ideas on the subject of "Europe" and another European home will be made of cardboard, paper and tape, that will reflect ideas for the future. At the end there will arise 3 houses, which represent already because of their structure a European metaphor and be equipped by the participants with semantic-artistic content. Wood for the origin of our Europe, steel for industrialization and paper for the depression, which was achieved by the European treaties.Different materials will come to use and the young people will discover (guerrilla)-, land- and streetart as new forms of political expression. 60 participants will, together with international artists, open up an entirely new and creative approach to political themes. At the end the young people will make an artistic process, of Europe and the EU - a creative standpoint oftheir view and an expressive message will find Europe's attention.
