Getting informed, studying and working without borders. A project for Italy-Slovenia cross-border educational and professional guidance
Start date: Dec 31, 2002, End date: Apr 29, 2007 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main objective of the project consists in creating an interaction between the Italian and Slovenian guidance systems and offering several preliminary information and guidance services to integrate existing ones and immediately applicable for operators and inhabitants of the Italian-Slovenian cross-border area. The first step consists in a preliminary survey aimed at indentifying information needs on the territory and producing a map of the resources/sources most suitable to meet such needs . Then a bilingual website is created - the “Guidance without borders” portal - providing practical information support for cross-border study, work and mobility, including new forms of mobility following the entry of Slovenia in the EU. The project also envisages the creation of a CD-Rom outlining various professions that are representative of the job market in Friuli Venezia Giulia, and in line with the similar tool used in Slovenia “Kam in Kako”, that includes a section devoted to “cross-border” professional profiles. The project further envisages an education and training programme for operators in guidance services or working in schools located near the border, in order to encourage the use of resources produced in the framework of the project, and a series of seminars and workshops targeting decision-makers and operators in the sector, to encourage the establishment of a stable communication network among guidance services and operators of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Slovenia. The project ends with the implementation of an information and publicity campaign on the results attained, to be carried out in schools, universities, guidance services and job placement offices on both sides of the border.
