Get to know and GROWGet to know and GROW is a mobility project for VET students in the sector of health and social care. Our school started to work EU-wide in 2015. With the current developments in Europe it is more necessary than ever that the European Union grows together. Especially our kindergarten teachers will have a important taks within the integration of refugees. This project aims at transnational experiences to develop three dimensions of competences: social-, self- and professional competences. Especially an improved self-reflection, better language skills, tolerance and a deep understanding of culture should be achieved. 100 of our students, from different parts of Germany, have the chance to experience a workshop dealing with healthy nutrition in Italy or to do an internship in Spain or Portugal. Due to the fact that long term mobilities are even more incisive, we included more mobilities that last one month up to three month. We emphasize the importance of the project for our students because they work with people and their personal and professional development is crucial for the development of others. The project will have an impact on everybody involved due to the gain of understanding and therefore of GROWing together.
