PROJECT
FINISHED
Before the youth exchange ?Get Ready 4 Media? together with our partners we identified the need to work on topics as media, journalism and media freedom. Taking in consideration the modern trends and the fast development of technology and media tools, we noted that young people need further education on the topic of media, especially learning how to use all media available today.
The youth exchange took place in February, in Radozda, Struga.
During the 8 days of the exchange 40 young people were able to learn and examine that media play a very important role in today?s world and especially the messages transferred through them.
The group of participants was interested in the project topic and all of them had good knowledge of technology and were able to work on their tasks and to generate great results of their work. The created program of the project and the workshops trained young people about various fields, starting with usage of IT tools, internet security, photography workshops, photo and video editing, journalism through essay writing and public speaking and the importance of relevant information- how they find it and how they deliver it.
The participants, the local community of Struga, and Macedonia as a country felt the benefits of this project initiative. The influence of the project has been transferred as a domino- effect through the activities of GET INNOVATION but also by spreading the word from the attendees. With the participants we have created the project blog: http://www.getinnovation.eu/blog/, which is great reference for the outcomes of the project, but it is also a source of ideas and information related to topic of media. Astonished by the Macedonian culture and landscapes, participants have become promoters of the country and were highly inspired to create videos about it. On a long run, we have already agreed with some of the participants to help them work on similar topics and create projects for their peers and colleagues. Some of these activities already took place in France, where participants already did meetup activities discussing media freedom.
