Geração 3.0 - Encontro Nacional de Juventude
Start date: Aug 4, 2015, End date: Apr 3, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

2015 is a year full of meaningful events: national legislative elections are going to take place; for 30 years now, Portugal joined the EU; CNJ celebrates 30 years of activity and for 30 years now, too, International Year of Youth was marked for the 1st time (ONU, 1985). In this context, CNJ wishes to organize a National Youth Meeting (NYM), called Generation 3.0, which aims to be a significant and inclusive initiative of Structured Dialogue, between young people and policy makers, in Portugal. “Generation 3.0 - National Youth Meeting” will gather at least 500 young people from different geographical, social and economic backgrounds between ages 16 to 30, during 3 days in Cascais. Given its scale and impact, Generation 3.0 – NYM is not only crucial to discuss and assess current public policies (National and European) but also to influence the political agenda on relevant issues for youth. Together with decision makers, youth experts and youth workers we will debate about youth empowerment (young people´s access to rights) and political participation, in the framework of the 4th cycle of the European process of Structured Dialogue. There will be a variety of activities, namely: information sessions, trainings, working groups, cultural activities, physical activities, conferences, youth job fair, among other. On the other hand, 2015 is a special year for CNJ because it's the celebration of 30 years of activity dedicated to youth policies and to the social inclusion of young people. It is the celebration of guiding values such as participation, democracy, diversity, respect, citizenship, dialogue, sharing, joint creation which are embedded in the life of CNJ and also in the processes of Structured Dialogue. Thus, “Generation 3.0 – NYM” will be a unique and significant moment that is going to strengthen CNJ role in society as the representative platform of young people and their interests. Briefly, we can say that the main aims of the event are to promote an inclusive and broad space of structured dialogue between young people and decision makers, strengthen and celebrating the CNJ activity and contributing for its role in society. We expect that decision makers adopt the motto “Nothing about young people without young people”, i.e., we want to advocate for active youth participation on public policy definition. Therefore, the outcomes of the event will be very important for CNJ´s advocacy strategy and to mark the Government´s political agenda.
