PROJECT
FINISHED
The title of our project is: Gender and Equality: a European look. With it we intend to address the problems arising in the treatment of gender-based violence that occurs in schools. Our project falls within the context of social challenges highlighted in Horizon 2020 under the specific objective of “A changing world, inclusive, innovative and reflective societies”.This idea was born of our willingness to provide the center with its own identity through the teaching of specific values. This led us to identify three needs: primarily, the commitment to promote the values cited by the project called "Among Equals", which aims to prevent, intervene and eliminate possible gender violence situations as a tool for creating a more fair society, secondarily, to promote a multilingual education program in our center and, finally, the aim to give the project a European dimension. We intend to achieve an education based on gender and opportunities equality, by improving the quality of teaching and updating our methodology. Both actions will allow us a better integration of those groups who may be disadvantaged, through an open and distance learning. We think our idea, which has been running a year with great success among our students, can help to achieve the challenge of Horizon 2020 but we need to train our teachers to export it to other European centers. For this idea to be a reality we have created a team of nine teachers representing such diverse fields as History, Music, Valencian, English, Technology, Spanish Language, Science and the Guidance Department.According to our SOWT analysis, to achieve our goals we have proposed several mobilities that will provide teachers with the necessary tools to give a European dimension to this project. The entire training is done through classroom courses and by job shadowing in different European countries in the following areas.New methodologies: 3 mobilitiesLanguage training: 5 mobilitiesTIC: 1 mobilityCLIL: 4 mobilitiesOrganization and management: 4 mobilitiesIn order to accomplish the project we have carried out a seminar in KA1 project training. So we've got advice from an experienced secondary education school on these kind of projects. This seminar has shown our training needs and their treatment will enable us to make our goals come true. The next step has been the search for the best training methods to cover our lacks. At the same time we develop a set of indicators that will provide us with assessment on goals’ achievement . Similarly, the development of the project proposal itself has allowed us to identify gaps in our spreading policy. We have therefore initiated a spreading plan aimed at both our fellows, the center itself, parents and school environment. The approval of our project will allow us to take a big step towards the sharing of our values with other European centers .The project final aim is creating a school policy based on equality education with a European projection. In order to get it our colleages will learn from the training received by the members of the project by incorporating new ICT tools in their lessons, changing materials, applications and groupware procedures, opening eTwinnig accounts, elaborating their Europass Language Passport, transforming their methodologies. In the center environment we expect the creation of new contacts with the Town Council and its information sources with the idea of widening the visibility of what is done in the center.Once the project has been finished, we will make presentations for other schools, both inside and outside the village. Some of them have already shown their interest in our work, so it will be really positive to transmit and share our experience with other teachers and schools. This will enable future Ka2 projects with partners created in this first phase by means of stable and enduring useful communication networks .We also hope that teachers incorporate broadcast platforms such as Erasmus + eTwinning as a tool to establish future contacts with other European centers beyond the proyect ending.
