Volunteering is very important for the future of countries because when the number of young people who participate in volunteering activities increase,in the future they will take charge in local administrations and perspectives of goverments will be changed. Pendik Municipality carry out a lot of activities that involve youth and with this project’s aim is to draw attention volunteering activities.In the context of the project, twelve volunteers will be host in Bulgaria for two weeks with six mobilities. Volunteers who will take part in volunteering activities of Smolyan Municipality, will be selected from between the ages of 17 to 30.Our Project partner Smolyan Municipality has identified three different activity areas. The Volunteers will work voluntarily at Smolyan Municipality’s social canteen, care homes and International Programmes and Projects Directorate. Smolyan Municipality has a social canteen which provides hot food and nourishment for families that are in need. The youths will be the volunteer at the social canteen.The Volunteers will assist to staff at care homes of elderly people, care homes for people with mental disorders and will attend voluntary activities in daily care centre for youths with physical and mental disorders.Smolyan Municipality has a Economic Development, Tourism, International Programmes and Projects Directorate that carries out all national and international relations with organisations and institutions, coordinates projects activities based on various funds, organises and attends a variety of national and international programs.The youths that will volunteer at the Economic Development, Tourism, International Programmes and Projects Directorate , will work alongside the staff in the Office and assist them in the follow up of current national and international calls for projects, help in the implementation of the projects, organise events to promote the European Union and projects to the public. The youths will also take part in Youth activities and projects related to Youth policies and will be free on the weekends.With scope of the “Genç Gönüllüler Yerel Yönetimlerde / Young Volunteers in Local Administrations” Project, youths will take part in social activities of a different European country, gain new perspectives and intercultural experience
