GEBP - 'Glocal' Education Business Partnership

The GEBP network will encourage education, businesses and the community to work together for mutual benefit and will foster closer links between these parties in order to develop long-term co-operation and provide the opportunity for young people to acquire the entrepreneurial skills required for employment. The involved organisations will work together to assemble and build work-related-learning models for schools and entrepreneurs to use in everyday life.Work packages for the project will comprise: analysis of existing work-related learning; investigation into social inclusion; establishment of education, business and community partnerships; identification of criteria to judge the effectiveness of existing work-related learning models. The project will further introduce models and methodology for placements and in-service training to provide the opportunity for students/teachers to relate classroom-based teaching to the world of work and will propose a European model of entrepreneurship training building upon research and active learning.Good practice identified by the project will be disseminated via the VETNET project database (to further link to existing databases on the subject) and via a series of conferences delivering the results of the individual work packages. A dedicated website will be established and relevant press will be informed of the project results. The long-term plan is to commercialise the results of the project.
