In our two-year project (1.07.2014-30.06.2016) which is called „Rural gastronomy in a European form” 20 feeding and gastronomical service technicians and 2 caretakers take part. Project bases on the principles of acquiring, assessing and acknowledging new qualifications within the ECVET system. Thanks to this project we will organise monthly work practice for 2 groups of the youth in: November/December 2014 and November/December 2015. The main aim of the project is to familiarise students with the gastronomical offer in the small localities and in the country giving as an example the work of hotels and pensions in the middle Germany, in Thuringia and to increase practical abilities connected with language, occupation and personal development of the students. Project also responds to the needs of the participants: they learn autonomy, responsibility, reasonable behavior, persistence in pursuing the goals, humbleness at work, development of the intercultural competencies among them – sensibility to other nationalities, an ability to accept and tolerate other people, breaking the language barrier when it comes to the international contacts. Within their stay abroad students will visit the capital city of Thuringia – Erfurt and they will also see how does the Christmas market look like.
The participants will also take part in the intensive linguistic, mental, cultural, vocational and pedagogical preparation which is essential for their stay. They will also participate in language competence tests on the platform prepared by European Commission and in the German linguistic online courses also prepared by the European Commission.
Students will also receive a lot of certifications confirming their acquired competencies and their participation in the trainings before departure and after their return: certificate in German language from the partners, Europass Mobility and they will also prepare their curriculum vitae according to the CV-Europass standards.
The participants will hold their monthly internship in small and medium enterprises connected with the tourism business. These are: Siegmundsburger Haus Werraquelle GmbH (SHW), Thüringer Waldblick Boxber GmbH, Hotel Rennsteig, Hotel Herzog Georg, Hotel Ringhotel-Schlossberg. SHW is a coordinator of the project in Germany.
Assumptions and the aims of the project correspond to the European Quality Charter for Mobility and Internship Quality Card and respond to the priorities set by ERASMUS+ programme. These priorities are: realization of the concept of lifelong learning programme, mobility, improvement of the quality and effectiveness of the learning process, development of the school in refinement of the content of teaching vocational subjects and professional German. They also concern development of the key competencies such as speaking and a casual expression of the students (oral dissemination of the project results by participants), writing (preparing reports), rise of the creativity and entrepreneurship, development of the cooperation between institutions and school, internationalization of the school, increase in linguistic competencies, rise in the competencies concerning technology and communication among students and teachers, who are involved in this project, improvement of the transparency of the acquired competencies – participants will be assessed due to the ECVET system – German employers in a settlement with our school created a method of assessment and validation of the acquired skills.
