Ganzheitliche Bewertung von Schülerleistungen bei Gruppenarbeiten

Our new is project designed to study evaluation methods of students’ performances. It is quite obvious that there are plenty of different evaluation models within the European Union. Differences exist, for example, in the grading systems and how evaluation criteria are weighted. Apart from expertise, the importance of soft skills is increasing in the modern working environment. Due to the specific structure of our vocational school it is often not easy to plan the development of soft skills in detail and, thus, evaluate especially the performance of student groups in a holistic and differentiated manner. There is a need to raise the teachers’ awareness to this issue. That is why, as a result of our project, we intend to organize a special qualification course for our teaching staff with the help of external instructors. We hope that the analyses of the evaluation systems of our European partner schools or colleges will encourage us to develop new ideas, to evaluate our students fair and consequently, support the students. In the preparatory stage of the project work, we are planning to study sources describing the evaluation systems of our partner schools and to compare them with our own evaluation system. After that, key activities of the participants in the project are fixed. During the stays in the partner countries, we are planning to compare our theoretical knowledge gained in the preparatory stage of the project with the existing and used evaluation methods at our partner schools by e.g. attending classes, monitoring, surveys, and discussions. In particular cases, we want to plan a lesson with students and evaluate it in accordance with the acquired knowledge. The documentation of the research including the gained knowledge as well as the results of the conferences will be blog posted promptly and be available to all interested readers. The participants in the project will present their experiences in teacher’s conferences and a school conference involving teachers, students and representatives of the several training companies. They may discuss a need for any changes, check legal requirements and move on to a resolution. The final evaluation of the project results will be carried out by our external partners and our school quality management team.
