FUSION - Featured eUrope and South asIa mObility Network

The FUSION consortium aims to sustain and improve its decade expertise in Higher Education Institutions collaboration between Asia and Europe universities through promoting multidisciplinary and multilateral cooperation among the consortium partners. FUSION will foster new partnerships of emerging Asian countries with the Europe countries to reinforce the existing collaborations developed through the EAST-WEST Asia Link and eLINK projects, and the current cLINK project. The key idea of the project is to fuse research, education, and professional practice to enhance the capacity for international cooperation between universities in the South Asian and Europe countries by facilitating transfer of people, know-how, culture and best practice in training the next generation of the participated students, researchers, engineers, academics, managers and administrators. FUSION will allow undergraduate, master and doctoral students, post-doctoral research fellows, and academic and administrative staff to gain valuable experience, knowledge and establish networking contacts in the institutions of Asia and Europe. Some Asia students will even have the possibility to obtain a relevant master or doctoral degree from the reputable European universities.FUSION will also form a collaborative framework for human resource development through the training and upgrading of skills of the faculty staff members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, post-doctoral research fellows and administrative staff in ‘Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning (02)’, ‘Business Studies and Management Science (04)’, ‘Education and Teacher training (05)’,‘Engineering and Technology (06)’, Medical Sciences (12)’, ‘Social Sciences (14)’ disciplines.The project will be coordinated by the Bournemouth University which has a long lasting experience of European projects management. On the whole, 151 mobility are foreseen with 106 and 45 from Asia to EU and EU to Asia.
