The goal of the From past to future project carried out in cooperation with the Municipality of Velika Polana was to revive local crafts for the population of the region, unemployed with reduced working capacity, to benefit from the acquired skills and knowledge. Basket weaving courses were held for the unemployed, and a summer camp was organized for pupils and students. Trainings were held for the unemployed for developing their job-finding capacities, along with motivation courses for pupils, an English language course and educational programs in entrepreneurship, business and marketing. Achievements: In the skills development programs, participated locals and residents from surrounding areas while pupil and student groups even came from other parts of the country. Skills development workshops, lasting for 150 days, were held with the participation of Slovenian craftsmen. Insight was given into traditional crafts and products of that area. The combination of different raw materials resulted in several new products being designed in cooperation with the partners. The participants gained knowledge of the English language, business and marketing skills.
