According to the World Health Organization , each one of four people is face to face with a risk of getting psychological or neurological disease. In addition, it has been proved that five of ten diseases which cause to disability most, are sourced of psychological. According to the United States reports, 450 million people have still struggled for a psychological or neurological diseases. According to the results of Turkey Psychology Health Profile, psychological diseases have been seen % 17.2 per cent of society. According to data from World Psychiatric Association (WPA) , it is necessary to provide awareness of society about psychiatric diseases. Also, it is important to cope with difficulties healthily. To ensure this, the knowledge and skills of nurses about psychiatric diseases should be increased during the training and negative attitudes and prejudices should be turned into positive. In Turkey, there are 103.000 nurses in the current situation. To every 100.000 people, 141 nurses have fallen. In European Union countries, this rate is approximately 745. The rate in Turkey is less than five times in European countries. The aim of our project is to provide employment of educated nurses who can evaluate psychiatric patients’ physical , psychological , social , economical and cultural situations.Nurses should encourage the patients to develop their social and practical life skills in psychiatry units in which the patients’ care, treatment and rehabilitations are enforced with a holistic perspective.In addition, another aim of the project is to acquire a new socio-cultural dimension to Psychiatry Nursing with the efficient use of Photography Art in psychiatry treatment. The name of our project is assigned as ‘Overview to Treatment With Photographs’.The information which our beneficiaries will gather systematically during the practice, will be used for improving and reforming in psychiatry education and health services in our country. In prep-training of our Project, supporting courses and training abroad have been planned. So, our beneficiaries can be recognized easily.Also, it is planned to increase their vocational qualifications.An efficient dissemination programme will be applied to ensure continuity and efficiency of the results and outputs. The results of our project will contribute to close the staff gap with our graduated students at a national and international level.Our project which encourages art and psychiatric treatment, will create an effective treatment model in psychiatric nurse approach.During the training abroad, our beneficiaries will gather on the basis of patient, nurse and society. In psychiatric treatment services, this data will be compared to other domestic and local data and they will form an opportunity to reevaluate the approach to nursing perspective. In the process of preparation, training abroad and accomplishment all the activities will be applied in participation principals by doing and experiencing. Our education will be skill and learner-centred. increase vocational development and capacity. We have a beneficiary group. It consists of our school local partners and 45 students from Nursing Department.Our students haven’t had education for four years. But they couldn’t find an opportunity to grow themselves up about our project.In addition, they are the members of limited families socially and economically. Our project’s activities are going to be done between 22.09.2014 and 22.09.2015.Our training abroad is going to be at Střední Zdravotnická škola Nursery College in Czech Republic, Daugavpils Medical College in Latvia with the practical education programme ,which is planned in160 hours, between 17.05.2015-13.06.2015.
