The project, as its title, FOCUSes on supporting the modernization agenda of Libyan universities through the promotion of QA and enhancing quality awareness at the university level. FOCUS, more specifically, aims at developing a viable and sustainable QA system within Libyan universities through the implementation of capacity building programme, the development of a quality strategic plan and the enhancement of QA methodologies and mechanisms, which are in line with the national and Tempus priority.Starting with analysis via benchmarking to compare the current QA situation in each LU, and evaluate training needs to tailor the next trainings. After gathering the necessary data, a capacity building programme will take place to introduce good practices . In parallel, a strategic working group in each university will be formed to be in charge of the development and adoption of the QA strategic plan and , meanwhile, Quality centers will be upgraded in all partner university. At this stage, Libyan Universites would acquire sufficient knowledge and “know-how” to pilot actions on implementing QA system and self-assessment actions will be carried out in both study programmes and university services.
