PROJECT
FINISHED
Growing up or living on an island can sound very attractive, but young people who live there, can experience a disadvantage regarding access to employment, compared to young people who live on the mainland.
This point of view was the starting point of this project. A group of young people who wants to share and exchange these similarities between young Europeans who are living on the island. Expressing the difficulties of young people living on the islands, but also taking into account the more positive feelings, sharing experiences, cultures and traditions.
The exchange took place from February 2 until February 10 2015 at the Youth Hostel of Santa in La Santa, Lanzarote. The participants were young people between 25 and 30 years old from Malta, Martinique, Greece and Italy.
The profile of the participants was very general. The only requirement was that they had to live on an island and that they were eager to share their experiences. Each national group was accompanied by a leader.
During this exchange there were a number of workshops about reflection, information exchange, debates and discussions, group work, cultural visits, social evenings, intercultural activities (dance, music, traditions, ?) of the different national groups, and a visit around Lanzarote.
