PROJECT
FINISHED
After a two-year break from teaching French, Amrei Strappler will take up that role once again in the school year 2015-16, and therefore seeks the best possible preparation for the tasks ahead, in terms of both linguistic and didactic competence. It is that aim which motivates the present project proposal.
A willingness to participate in a variety of seminars and to enhance their personal language skills by spending time in the country in which the target language is spoken, is essential for any teacher who hopes to offer their pupils an authentic, high quality educational programme.
The project selected by Ms. Strappler strives to develop participants‘ skills in a number of ways. Firstly, it is designed to enrich classroom competence from a methodological, linguistic, intercultural, didactic and communicational perspective. Consequently, participants will be better equipped to motivate their students.
For that reason, Amrei Strappler, a highly motivated and committed French teacher with eight years‘ experience in the language classroom, is keen to benefit from the project. Ms. Strappler has always demonstrated eagerness to participate in additional professional courses, openness towards new didactic methods, as well as pleasure in sharing the knowledge she has gained with her colleagues.
First and foremost, the chosen programme aims to develop individual language skills. In addition, attention is given not only to analysing, reflecting on and discussing current educational methods, but also to improving upon and expanding them where possible. Moreover, participants are informed about current affairs – social, cultural and political - in France.
By taking part in this project, Amrei Strappler expects, first of all, to see a development in her personal language, teaching, and methodological skills, which her pupils will profit from in turn. In addition to that, and from a more long term perspective, she hopes to form valuable contacts with fellow teachers and with European institutions, eventually leading to partnerships and projects between schools.
