Secondary School "Dimitrie Cantemir" Vaslui is an inclusive school in which there are integrated 130 pupils with special educational needs, among which there are 9 pupils from the autistic spectrum, 7 pupils with ADHD, 37 pupils with great logopedic problems, 4 pupils with spastic tetra paresis, 1 pupil with Down syndrome, 6 pupils re-migrated in the last two years and 66 pupils coming from different disadvantaged environments. The number of the pupils with special educational needs is growing and it is a big number by reference to the number of the pupils with normal educational capacities. Although the law stipulates that a support teacher should work with 8 – 12 pupils with special educational needs, in reality a support teacher deals with 20 such pupils. In these conditions, the support teachers need the help of the other teachers in the school in order to achieve an efficient and real integration of two pupils with special educational needs. Therefore, the main need of our school right now is a better training of the teachers in view of an efficient communication with these pupils with special educational needs and their integration in the ordinary school.Specific objectives:- the development of the competences of communication with and integration of the pupils with special educational needs for 12 teachers in preschool level, primary level or secondary level from Secondary School “Dimitrie Cantemir” Vaslui until the 31st of August 2017;- the integration in the ordinary school of 130 pupils with special educational needs until the 31st of August 2017;- the growth of the school progress of 130 pupils with special educational needs thus preventing their early school leaving until the 31st of August 2017;- the development of an inclusive environment in our school for the 130 pupils with special educational needs until the 31st of August 2017.In order to develop the European dimension and to ensure the equality of chances, the school has got in touch with the training provider IDevelop, Seville, Spain, in order to take part in the training course ‘All children are special!’, organized in 2 fluxes, 6 teachers each flux.The activity plan of the project includes the effective taking part in the course and the activities that prepare and finalize these 2 fluxes to the course:- the formation of the managing team of the project, the members being named by the school board;- the signing of the contract with the National Agency for Community Programs in Education and Training;- the signing of the contract with the training provider IDevelop, Seville, Spain;- the launching of the project at the opening of the school year;- the announcing of the teacher’s selection for the mobility;- the submitting of the applications and the interview;- the announcing of the selection’s results;- the signing of the learning agreements;- the linguistic, cultural and pedagogical preparation of the participants to the mobility;- the unfolding of the mobility to the training course ‘All children are special!’, Seville, Spain – flux 1 and flux 2;- the dissemination of the course through newspaper articles and interviews, in teachers’ council and in the pedagogical commissions;- the writing of the final report and its sending to the National Agency for Community Programs in Education and Training.Regarding the methodology, the approach will be practical, experiential and based on an analysis of reality and the concerns of the group.The expected results of this project are:- the capacity of identification of the most important area of special needs: cognitive, learning, social, emotional, behavioral, communication, interaction, sensory and physical;- competences in the evaluation of the learning progress of the pupil with special educational needs;- increasing of the communication skills and relationship building process between disabled student and the classmates;- gaining knowledge of how to help students with their emotional and physical problems, so that we can create a bridge to improve the relationship with their families;- the development of an innovative approach of the teaching – learning process;- creating an inclusive educational environment;- communicating in a foreign language;- intercultural and interpersonal development;- promoting the exchange of good practices to ensure the impact of the project’s results;- acknowledging the cultural diversity as part of the European identity;- respect for diversity and group;- accepting the diversity of opinion, empathy and tolerance.The activities included in this project will have an impact as well on the teachers that will take part in the mobility, as well as on the school they belong to, but, especially, on the target group –the pupils with special educational needs.On the long term, the impact of these activities will be felt not just by the classes where the trained teachers are teaching, but by the entire school and even by the local community.
