Folkaravan is an international workshop to exchange experiences in Folk Music and Dances for young Europeans. Main purpose is to build close relations of cooperation, transmission and exchange, not only among young peolpe who will take part directly in teh exchange, but also between the group and the local community. The workshop will take place from August 19 to September 2 in San Sebastiano dei Marsi, a small mountain village located in the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, 1200 meters above sea level, so that it overlooks Valle del Giovenco. The young participants from Italy, Germany, Lithuania, Poland and France, will meet at the foot of the Apennines to build a creative workshop aimed to create, transformate, invent, develop and show new ideas, and aimed also to meet new travelling companions. In the workshops - directed by musicians, dancers, performers and different artists - coming from various countries and artistic experiences - will be explored several aspects of folk music and dances. The purpose is to increase the value of Folk Music and dances as mover for individual and collective transformations, for advancement and enhancement of personal peculiarities, against isolation, intolerance and indifference.
