Fluency & English Language Development for Teachers
Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The main areas of improvement on a school level are: the international (European) dimension the staff's language competences and their possibilities of contact and communication with teachers from abroad the exchange traditions means a lot to the students' language ability The participant has been an English teacher for 20 years. She teaches at least 4 secondary classes every year, and in some years also primary years. The is a very entusiastic teacher wanting to be wiser , to reflect more on her own teaching, what works and what doesn't, what motivates students, and of cause attending a course with other English teachers will enable sharing and exchanging ideas, knowledge and pedagogical information with other participants. Skills of technology and ICT in the classroom is also of great interest. Hopefully the course will make it possible to exchange professional knowledge and open up a personal view on teaching and challenge own ideas and opinions in discussions and working with participants from other countries. These contacts would lead to projects and programmes in the future with other classes than just year 9 students from our school as it is of now. The perspective is to start up the international awareness and openmindedness within the students, and give the intercultural competences earlier in their lifves than when they are about to leave school. From next year English as a foreign language will be part of our school's curriculum from year 1 (7 years old)
