PROJECT
FINISHED
This project is addressed to students and teachers in training courses for social professions. There is still a high demand for qualified staff in social jobs all over Europe. Furthermore the growing mobility of EU citizens results in the situation that there are more and more children with migration background in care facilities for children in all European countries. Their integration process must be accompanied and supported carefully. Staff in the facilities needs appropriate language and intercultural competences. Our students learn about and practice such competences at our school. The additional work placements abroad give them the chance to use, evaluate and improve the skills and knowledge they have got at school. This is also a good opportunity to get well-prepared for the European job market. Intercultural and language competences provide better chances on the European job market. Besides we expect an improvement of the motivation for a job application all over Europe.
The teaching staff, involved in the activities of the project, will get to know the welcoming institutions in France and Spain. We are especially interested in their conditions, requirements end opportunities and to check and analyse how we can together reach the aims of this project and to agree on neccessary changes in our cooperation.
There are 10 students and 2 teaching staff in our project. The activities are well-distributed between the two welcoming institutions. The students will be there for 4 weeks and the teaching staff for 4 days. The students will accompany the daily routine in the classes at the care facilities and support the nursery teachers in all taks. The teaching staff will get experience about the work in the parter organisation.
The topics of the project are: analysis of the requirements for qualified staff in their prospective job in Spain and France, the evaluation of their skills compared with the requirements, usage und improvement of their intercultural competences and the preparation and execution of a special offer for at least one class in the care falicity.
We have already had a long-term successful relationship with the two partners in this project. We agreed on continuing the former procedures for the execution of our common projects. This includes the early selection of the participants, the detailed agreement on contents, the assistance with travel planning and accommodation for the participants, the regular contact with the participants and the welcoming institution during the stay. We expect positive effects from the activity of the teaching staff that we have applied for the first time.
The project should have positive effects for our participants regarding the European job market, for the practice-oriented training at our school, for the experience of our teaching staff, for the cooperation with our partners in the project, for the cooperation with our work placement partners in Saxony and for the reputation of our institution among prospective applicants.
