Working in a globalized world requires specifically trained staff which is not easy to find in the labor market in Germany, especially for a small/medium sized company based in a rural area. For that reason, they have to train their own apprentices for future requirements.
Therefore, 50 apprentices coming from internationally operating companies are being trained for future international jobs in business administration, sales and purchasing.
Their language skills in both business related and private situations is being developed through intensive language training and a five weeks stay in work placements in an English speaking country (Malta)
The participants larn how to deal with other mentalities, lifestyles and organizations and get professional experience abroad.
Living in self catering appartments will develop their independance and their self confidence, preparing them for future missions in foreign countries. Through contacts with colleagues in the companies and with students from other countries, they will increase their cross cultural awareness.
The sending companies from Germany will then dispose of better trained and higher motivated staff they need for their international business relations.
Entry barreers to the European labor market should be reduced, and the mobility of the students increased by the international experience they make during their stay.
As a long term effect of this project, the comparison of learning, teaching and exam levels throughout Europe is expected to be facilitated. Europe as a common place for us to work and to live in becomes reality for the students.
