PROJECT
FINISHED
Pupils from Korinth Efterskole took the initiative in this project, "Come in, please." They are responsible for the planning, implementation and the evaluation of this project. The project is a 7-day-long youth exchange focusing on fighting prejudice. Four countries, Slovakia, Italia, Turkey and Denmark are involved with five participants and one leader from each country. The project is part of another local project, also called "Come inside, please," where a group of young pupils from Korinth Efterskole offer various activities one afternoon to the residents of the local asylum centre. In the middle of this youth exchange, another "Come Inside, please" event will be held - this time as part of this youth exchange, and both local citizens and residents at the asylum centre will be invited. The purpose is to open up doors and share our culture and traditions, e.g. by dances, foods, etc., thus fighting prejudice.Korinth Efterskole is a boarding school focusing on outdoor life and nature. This will also be an integrated part of this youth exchange. The first part of the exchange will be held at Trente Mølle, which is a nature school having activities for all schools in the region. During the last part of the exchange, we will be staying in shelters at Millinge Klint. All week the participants will make their own food and get an insight into each other´s food traditions. They will spend one evening at the school, having dinner and having some time for social relations.. This gives them an impression of the atmosphere at a typical, traditional boarding school in Denmark based on a long tradition from Grundtvig’s and Kold ´s ideas. The participants will share knowledge about the countries´ different situations as to refugees and take part in different kinds of workshops about prejudice. Finally, the participants will discuss possible actions and contributions to promoting integration of refugees in their own countries and fighting prejudice in general.
