Context: Why is the home of the EVS?
Welcome a young EVS is a comprehensive policy implementation for two years by the leadership of the youth of the City of Dammarie-les-Lys, primarily goal is to open young people about the world around them. The presence for one year a volunteer is a good way to do this because it will share their experiences and explain his motives.
The project will be developed, the organization of a festival around reading, is the opportunity to offer the SVE an interesting and useful activity for the visiting public, which is predominantly made up of young people with fewer says Opportunity (JAMO ).
Objectives:
In adolescence, one might think that mastery of reading is acquired by all young people. However, we realize that very few young people attending our structures are reading and more understand what they read. At a time of new technologies, young people abandoned the book for the benefit of computers, tablets, mobile phones, ... that limit the development of this fundamental skill: the ability to read.
This festival around reading aims to replace reading the heart of the action, unable to read, you can not manage to get what is desired, impossible to understand what is being asked, unable to participate in social life that must evolve.
Furthermore, we found it interesting to bring this reading project by EVS who master the French language perfectly so he can lead by example and promote the cultural and social openness youth of the city.
Number and profile of participants:
Bahadır Cevikel, the young EVS that we used to 29 years, he speaks French and motivation will lead young people in this festival.
The festival is open to all young people in the city. A program will be conducted to allow each age group 6-7 years 8-10ans, 10-13 years, 14-17 years and over 18 to access at least one cultural activity around reading. As noted, the majority of participants expressed JAMO.
Description of activities:
The general project runs from 1 October 2015 to 1 October 2016. The business establishment is the home of a young EVS for 1 year. As part of its voluntary, the young EVS will invest especially in the organization of a festival around reading. It will be supported by the teams in charge of this project.
To build the festival, it will diversify the media to make accessible to as many festival: the book, digital tools, games, storytelling, a show ....
These actions will be programmed in different places of the city or even outside (eg a book release) to make it more accessible and visible as possible.
The main activities on which it will invest are:
- Preparation of a festival around reading and voluntary culture;
- Organization of a youth exchange with his hometown of Istanbul;
- Entertainment in the Youth Space (structure teaches young 10-13 years and 14-17 years based on time)
- Communication with young people on European mobility devices and international ERASMUS +.
Methodology used in this project:
Once the volunteer arrives in Dammarie-les-Lys:
- Teams with which it will evolve before him (moderator, librarian, team of the theater, ...)
- A timetable and milestones will be determined in order to arrange his work,
- Documentation and a workstation will be available to him so he can do some research and find interventions around reading
- Regular meetings will be organized to help and direct
- A communication will be proposed to promote the festival.
The impact of EVS on public participants to the "Festival around reading»
