PROJECT
FINISHED
FROGS is an international youth exchange (KA1) involving eight organizations from Italy, Albania, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Portugal, Hungary and Macedonia, which will take place from the 4th to the 13th of august 2015 in Sarajevo. Four participants and one group leader will compose each group.
All the organizations involved in the project work on a daily basis with volunteers and young people affected by the social pathology of youth unemployment.
FROGS program of work wants to introduce the participants to the universe of social economy and green opportunities. FROGS is also willing to explore with them alternative tools for creating employment and for ideating an entrepreneurial project, permeated by the values of happy de-growth and green economy. We imagined this exchange as an incubator of ideas and best practices, an ideal space to raise awareness about the principles of resilience, virtuous economic networks, theories related to the economics of reciprocity and about the construction of harmonious environment-oriented societies.
the general objectives pursued by the project are to :
• contribute to improve the employment rate within the participants' communities
• improve the level of the key competences of the young participants, in particular the ones with fewer opportunities
• transfer values and practices related to active citizenship
• promote Erasmus + program around Europe
• encourage new forms of experiential and intercultural learning
• promote alternative and eco-sustainable economic models
the specific objectives pursued by the project are to :
• explore and share best practices regarding the notions of resilience, virtuous economic networks, economy of reciprocity and gift, within the countries involved in the project
• analyze advantages and disadvantages of the explored models
• investigate occupational opportunities within the context of the explored alternative economic models and within the participants' communities
• ideate and write a sustainable entrepreneurial project permeated by the values of green economy and able to create occupational opportunities within the participants' communities.
All the activities (both in the preparation and in the implementation phase) will be based on non-formal and experiential learning methodologies : ice-breaking games, team building activities, participative/interactive workshops, debates and discussions, simulations, photo voice, open space methodology, guerrilla marketing actions, theater techniques, introspective journals.
Every day will focus on a specific issue: team building, environment protection, social economy, economy and happiness, exploration of environment-oriented best practices, ideation of a sustainable entrepreneurial project.
During this exchange, the participants will learn how to work in team within an intercultural context. They will improve their social and linguistic skills in order to establish new relationships and to communicate.
We planned the different activities in order to encourage the creativity and the enterprising spirit of the participants, both within the group and during open activities. In order to ideate and elaborate the final entrepreneurial project, the participants will also develop competences in the mathematics and informatics area. In all the phases of the project, they will experience participative decision-making process and non-hierarchical work division.
At the end of this intercultural experience, the young people should have acquired the main tools for thinking globally and act locally. Moreover, they should be more aware about learning process and active citizenship process.
FROGS is expected to have a direct impact on the participants, who are the true protagonists of the exchange.
After having experienced multiple activities and methodologies, the participants will have a wide perspective on the explored issues (environment protection, green economy, etc.) both on practical and theoretical level. We expect them to be more aware concerning their role of active citizens not only within their local communities, but also within the national and the global context. We also expect them to transfer best practices and knowledge about the explored themes to a wider public.
FROGS will have an indirect impact on the sending organizations, as they could count on a more aware base of volunteers. They will develop new intercultural, organizational, relational skills. These competences will help them to build new partnerships and to broaden their international network and European perspective (within Erasmus plus and other UE programs).
FROGS aims to involve young people with fewer opportunities (unemployed, coming from rural isolated and poor areas, etc.),it will also have an impact on social inclusion within the participant' communities.
Moreover, it will offer to the participants the opportunity to imagine new solutions in terms of sustainable occupational opportunities.
