Start date: Jul 1, 2015, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was named "Training at work- Destination: Portugal" because it consisted in performing all "Training at work" module in companies of the Portuguese city of Almada. It was proposed as a continuation of the one that during the term 2014-15, and under the name of "Work experience in Portugal" was developed along with Escola Profissional de Almada. This project enabled 4 students from middle-level vocational training to perform all of their "Training at work" module (nine weeks) in companies in the city of Almada (Portugal). The project was carried out from a clear division of tasks and activities among the partners and participants: - the applicant, who handled all the organization and planning, especially the selection of participants, their linguistic and cultural preparation and all aspects related to logistics and documentation. The heads of vocational studies were responsible for it. - the intermediary partner( non-commercial), who provided acommodation and companies and supervised the development of the project. Its European programmes coordinator was responsible for it . - the host partners, who joined the project later, and were companies that usually work with the intermediary partner for placements of its own students. They ensured that the training agreement previously adopted was done. The instructor of the company was responsible for it . - participating students, who had to follow the provided language and cultural preparation and fulfill all the tasks in the training agreement . The needs boarded were basically: 1) For participants: -to get the learning results of "Training at Work" module set in the curriculum of every training cycle. -to learn to fend for themselves in a different geographical, cultural and linguistic environment. 2) For the institution: -to improve cooperation between institutions and companies across Europe. -to improve recognition of qualifications at an European level, giving full effect to the mobility as "Training at work" module. The main objectives and expected outcome were to meet the needs set out above. The impact of the project for the institution was twofold: on one hand, helped students strive to get better grades in the first year and behave in a more mature and responsible manner, in order to have more chances of being beneficiaries of a mobility grant next year. In addition, it allowed to continue the process of internationalization of the institution, which is one of the objectives of its long-term strategy.
