Jean Vigo High School has always been focused on international opening, forceful argument of its establishment project. In twelve years of collaboration, the teaching team has realized six Leonardo Mobility projects.Partnerships are sustainable for more than ten years for the general High School (partnership with a school in Denmark, partnership in Spain). The vocational High School is also focused on international opening (existing partnerships with a Spanish school + partnerships with various foreign hotel complexes in England, Denmark and Spain). The hotel business section holds all the projects at the moment, so we have decided to expand mobility to our mechanics students. Our objectives in this Erasmus + project are:- Making our teachings and our vocational training attractive- Fighting against early school leaving and fighting school failure- Developing the language skills of our students- Becoming aware of the relevance of multilingualism (both for the hotel business section as for the mechanical section)- Developing life skills and vocational skills- Facilitating accession to European employability- Integrating the concept of European citizenship by developing a sense of belonging to the European Union- Learning autonomy. With its experience in mobility projects, Jean Vigo vocational High School can, in order to achieve these goals, rely on various important arguments:-a constantly renewed cooperation with many European hotel complexes-various partnerships with foreign schools or training centers (exchange of students during training periods, training center EUC SYD in Denmark)-a work with the twinning committees of the city of Millau (encourages exchanges)-a teaching team which is very involved in mobility projects (the kitchen teacher has a rich professional experience in various English-speaking countries and is working with English teachers – the follow-up visits of our pupils strengthen cooperation with our partners - the expertise of the Technical Director allows a rigorous follow-up of our pupil’s cases). In this approach, various national tools and certificates are helping us:-The Cambridge Certificate-the mention “European Section "on the vocational A-level diploma-the examination of the vocational A-level-The Europass bookletThe organization and management of these training periods abroad are the object of a special attention from us:-relevant choice of the internship places (regular contacts with the staff in charge of the students during the internship)-Predefined agreements concerning the reception of our students (accommodation, rules to follow, security)-accompanying students on the internship site-management tools (documents provided to the student and allowing a constructive flashback on the student’s experience). The mobility of our students ensures to the professionals of our very touristic area to find a staff mastering a language; a staff able to welcome foreign customers and provide them high quality services. This promotes local dynamism and makes our territory attractive.Ultimately, our ambition would be to extend mobility to all the professional sections of Jean Vigo Vocational High School (Trade, Civil Engineering, Technician Building)
