FAITH ACROSS EUwill last24months with the aim of promoting new training tools to improve the management & promotion of the sanctuary,a place of intersection of religious, cultural & social values. 4 partners-IT,DE,ES,RO- will be involved.The lack of methodologies & tools for the management of sanctuaries led ISSR to the definition of experimental strategies for analysis & administration, that, after the testing at national level, need to widen their scientific horizon to the whole EU.In order to retrieve the dimension of sanctuaries as learning environments, the project will foster a process of intergenerational & mutual learning among professionals & local adults.It will produce didactic tools able to facilitate the perception of the cultural complexity of the sanctuary, to promote the revival of cultural processes & interpretative pathways that risk to be lost, such as a “living” database of intergenerational interviews on faith transmission & videos on pilgrimages.A database on sanctuaries management practices all over Europe will also be developed.Professionals & church guides will be trained through a blended course(use of an interactive platform & residential sessions)based on biographical learning, grassroots’ perspectives & PPs’ experiences.After that, the trainees will be able not only to produce guidelines for the administration of the sanctuary&its promotion - religious & cultural- through a comparative approach, but also to facilitate local dialogue for the rediscovery of identity.They will facilitate inter-generational activities among adults to preserve oral memory & intangible cultural heritage connected with devotional events & foster transmission of traditions.The continuous involvement of sector stakeholders-sanctuaries, professionals, education professionals, pilgrims, scholars–& the sharing of results through the project website have the dual purpose of ensuring credibility of the project & promote the creation of sustainable exchange channels.
