Faites entrer l'EUrope !
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Louis Armand vocational school welcomes young pupils, aged 14 to 20, who come from varied social backgrounds. Mainly from underprivileged environment, our school offers them to acquire skills in retail and sales, and in industrial maintenance. For many of them, a vocational schooling is an easier way to gain access to concrete professional training. For those who are especially motivated, we propose a European class in retail and sales during their three year curriculum. Courses in English are added to their schedule in order to enhance the European dimension of their training. The objective is to allow those students, who are often restricted in their opportunity of travelling abroad, to live a professional experience in Europe and get an international outlook. The Erasmus project is a perfect occasion to gather a dynamic team in the school staff ( head master, account manager, teachers ) around a common prospect. They will help the students realize their part as citizens of the European Union by living an enriching experience. A preparation focussed on their curriculum and a four week training period in Ireland will be the climax of this project. We hope to develop their skills in the language fluency, in the knowledge of another culture and in the acquisition of new social and professional skills. Furthermore it will be an important added-value for their career prospects. Our team has carefully selected every partner (service provider, companies, host families ) who assists us in this project. We have chosen them for their seriousness, reliability and their expertise in supervising our students in every moment of their work placement. That is the reason why Dublin in Ireland seems to be the ideal place to receive our students in a privileged, human, cultural and professional environment. We want this work experience to take place in the best conditions. Therefore all the measures are taken by the teaching team who follow the students permanently. Regular contacts are made with the tutor in each company. Then two teachers accompany the students to Dublin in order to settle them within their new families and confirm that everything is alright. They also check the good respect of the work placement agreement and the tasks to carry out in the company according to the terms and conditions previously planned. The service provider remains the best contact in the place to ensure an active monitoring. By the end of the training period, two teachers will go back to Dublin to proceed to the assessment of the trainees according to the referring chart and collect the various documents. Once at school, the students bring back their activity forms and complete an assessment form about their training period. We plan a wide diffusion of the project in order to spread it as much as possible and enhance the students as well as their school. We then hope that our students will be able to realise their ability to apply the theoretical learnings in a particular environment made difficult because of another language and a different way of life. On their way towards autonomy, they will be rewarded with a Europass , a language passport and a much-valued diploma that will open them the doors of higher education, and give them a real chance to step into the working world.
