PROJECT
FINISHED
Our institute submits a mobility application for Erasmus +KA1 program. This program contains a three week course for students and a week course for teachers. The aim of our project: to obtain professional training for underprivileged students and for their teachers and to insure appropriate training in shortage trades.
We chose the head office in Biberach in Germany as a partner institution. (We have worked with this institution three times before.) The working training schedule has been arranged by recent experiences and our local requirements. The program has been accepted by both partners. We put high emphasis on certain areas to be able to gain better skills and knowledge.
The teachers mobility will take place 15.09 to 21.09. 2014, the students mobility will take place 06.10. to 26.10.2014. There will be 28 students and 3 teachers taking part in this project. 70% of the students are disadvantaged due to social status or learning difficulties. For the teacher training we are planning to delegate 9 teachers who are all members of our wood industry department.
The following considerations have been taken into account in selecting our students: craftsmanship experiences and knowledge, creative capabilities, foreign language skills, motivation, professional opinions.
The chosen students will sign a contract and take part in a training course for team and self-confidence building. The aim of the training is to raise awareness of the importance of supporting each other and a good relationship within the group. The students will also take part in factory visits, training excursions, professional theoretical and practical courses and language courses.
The students’ schedules for the three weeks are the following: two weeks experience in the training workshop and one week practice in a production area. The teachers’ program consists of factory visits, building site experiences, observing the dual training in practice to gain useful knowledge in this area of education.
The counterpart training school is going to issue a certificate and a Europass mobility card for the participants. These documents are accepted as compulsory training credits for the teachers. The agreement between the two institution states that the completed three week course can be accepted in the corresponding modules, furthermore, it counts as a summer work experience and as part of their term time.
At the end of the project we are going to assess each student to keep a record of their achievements as a result of their experience. The assessment will be done by the German trainers, their teachers, the coordinators and the head of the counterpart institute. After the arrival home students are going to make a self-assessment too.
We are going to write an article for our website and share our experiences with the local newspaper, radio station and television. Our experiences and gained knowledge will be used to improve our education programmes and motivate our student for further development, for their successful final exam and professional career. Our teachers will compile educational material in order to share new experiences.
