In the period from 18.04.2016 to 04.24.2016 the Berufsbildungswerk Leipzig gGmbH and the Polish partner organization Špeciálny Osrodek Szkolno- wychowawczy from Krakow led with a total of 34 hearing impaired and deaf young people through a common Youth Exchange and Memorial Drive to Oswiecim (Auschwitz). The youth have been prepared in two bodies on the ride. Not only the historical part of the NS - time, but also the European idea played a major role. By appropriate knowledge and relationships that young people were able to understand the past and evaluate. It was the main goal of the trip, to learn from history and to jointly stand for a free and democratic Europe, will, in which even people with disabilities integrated without barriers. This means that the young people could find and also to overcome language barriers, the first night was used to get us to know each other playfully in German and Polish languages ​​and in sign language with hands and feet. So the young people personal things, hobbies, occupations could learn from each other and so on. The "German and Polish Evenings" were used to introduce the origin cities and countries whose societies, geography and history. The first few days were marked by the visit of the concentration camp and the Museum "Schindler" to explore the dark sides of the past. In the evenings there was the "end of the day in the House of Silence". This time has been used intensively in order to come up with the young people about experiences from this week. Here great attention to today's politics and the battlefields has been added to the world. The lessons of Auschwitz and the UN Convention on Human Rights were based, in order to understand where we are today and what can be the contribution of each. Another highlight was the visit to the partner institution in Krakow. Here the young Germans were not only the training and dwellings of the Polish people to know, but also in the dialogue on contents of education, sports - come and recreation. An important point was also the participation of disabled young people in the design of everyday life. Together the young people got to know through a city rally Krakow. The preparation and implementation of Stadtrallay was the responsibility of the Polish people. You have independently defined what they want to show their German friends about their city. The last common highlight was the visit to the salt mine Wieliczka (UNESCO World Heritage Site). There was a common completion devotion.
