The Fada Tour 2015 is a youth exchange organized by both a French association –Terres en Mêlées, and a Moroccan association –AJR (Association Jeunesse Rugby) from Ain Leuh, an Amazigh rural town located in the Middle Atlas. This event will take place as of the 13th of July until the 2nd of August 2015 in Ain Leuh and its surrounding areas. It will bring together/gather 40 young people, from 18 to 25 years old: 20 people from France, from different social and geographical backgrounds, and 20 people from Morocco, who come from Ain Leuh. This 5000 inhabitant town is indeed affected by a high level of unemployment and poverty, a geographical isolation and drug addiction issues (which especially affects youth people). Through its actions, the AJRA tries to help these young people overcome these issues. The project has two main goals: - Breaking down prejudices by exposing young people to diversity (inside their own national group but also between French and Moroccan people) and thus encourage them to open their minds to other people from different cultures. - Strengthen their commitment as citizens by involving them actively in a project which will enable them to acquire and develop key competences, and will encourage them to think about their core values. This will help them to define more clearly their life project and will stimulate them to get involved in other solidarity actions at a local and/or international level. To reach these goals, an active and dynamic approach in the setting up of the following activities will be adopted: - Animations (meetings, debates, intercultural games, visits, informal discussions, etc.) which will enable them to discover and interplay in-between different cultures. - Making possible for French young possible to discover the region and the Amazigh culture of the Middle-Atlas French. Appropriation and promotion of their own heritage for the young Moroccan. - There will be workshops around socio-educational, sport and cultural activities and discussion groups, as well as animation sessions created and organized by the young people themselves. - Implementing these learnings towards the children during the setting up of recreation centres. In order to define their needs, their aims, the mediums they want to use, to self-evaluate their accomplishments, and what they gained, the young participants are both involved in the upstream and the downstream of the project, but also during the stay in Ain Leuh. Youthpass will be the masterpiece of this process of “back and forth” between the wishes expressed by the young people involved and the practical implementation of the exchange. As a conclusion, the Fada Tour 2015 represents an opportunity for the stakeholders and for the associations to progress one step ahead in their development projects.
