The project was implemented by "Carol Davila" Post High School Sanitary College in Petrosani with a view to matching the need to provide the increase of professional competence and competition of our school’s graduates – future secondary education members of the medical staff - on the labour market. The project included long term (42 days) training stages for 30 students being qualified as general nurses, and short term stages (28 days) for 20 students being qualified as pharmacy assistants, in Portugal. Our receiving partner was EPM-AFPDM, a VET competent establishment that helped us implementing the ECVET; practical training at the work place was organized in health care institutions, medical centres caring for elders and community pharmacies in the area of Montijo,Portugal. The goal of the project was the improvement of the professional and personal skills of the participating students during their training stages in Portugal. They also had the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field connected with the specialization’s components required by the nowadays and perspective context of the health systems in Romania and Europe; the components are included in SPP, within a real milieu, in health care institutions, while the improvement of the students’ linguistic competence, mainly connected to specialized vocabulary and communication, were an intrinsic part of the project. Profile of the participants: -50 post high school students, in the field of health training and pedagogical assistance, qualification level: 5; 20 second-year students, in the field of pharmacy assistance, and 30 third-year students, being qualified as general nurses (8 males and 42 females). We are able to certify that the final results greatly surpassed the initial expectancy, which is testified by the degree of satisfaction of the participants. Through ECVET partnership and the collaboration between the school and the medical units included, the project contributed to the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in the field of nursing, to the increase of the European share in education, and to the improvement of the medical act of the Romanian and European sanitary systems. The impact of the project was also displayed by the results obtained by the students while graduating: 100% graduation, 95% grades between 9 and 10, and 95% graduates’ insertion rate on the labour market (a 5% increase as compared with year 2014). The new Erasmus+ project implemented by the beneficiary in a VET consortium testifies its future sustainability and durability.
