PROJECT
FINISHED
Project Experiences-Skills-Opportunities reacts to the need to increase applicability of students on the labor market by improving their hard- and soft-skills and personality traits through the practice in the companies abroad. Students from study branches Electrotechnics and Technical lyceum must complete two weeks compulsory practice. While this practice they should apply their knowledge and skills in companies and enterprises. School has just limited possibilities to arrange practice for all students and so the students must find appropriate practice by themselves or by their parents. This kind of practice often doesn't meet more requirements for learning process, students are rarely led by skilled mentor and they often do works unrelated to their specialization (like copying, sorting documentation, moving storage ...). Practice abroad under the supervision of experienced mentors will give students quality vocational education by the expectation of school curriculum.Project has 5 goals that can be summarized into three groups:First group is focused on building hard- and soft-skills at the workplaces abroad. Receiving partners promised to organize professional practice under supervision of mentors in companies specialized in the field of electrotechnics, electronics, automation and information and communication technologies. Students will have opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills from school in the conditions of real environment and gain new knowledge and skills used by companies. By the real work in the foreign team, they will have opportunity to improve their soft skills and their personal profile by strengthen flexibility, creativity, independence, communication, ability to solve problems, place arguments and by strengthen work discipline.Second group of goals is to help students with fewer opportunities to better adapt in working life, motivate them to lifelong learning and improve their position on labor market. These students are often students with specific learning disabilities, from social or economic disadvantaged families or from regions with high unemployment rate, that has significantly reduced chance to gain quality education. By their participation in project we want to help them to overcome these barriers and improve their start position after their finish secondary school. Third group of goals is to improve European cooperation between project partners mostly by exchange of experience from teaching, education and from graduation procedures and by proposal for further cooperation on future mobility projects or non-project activities by organizing common competitions, discussions, foreign lessons by internet etc. We want to achieve mentioned goals by organizing mobilities in VET for 18 students, that will take part in two week practice in the companies and enterprises in Czech republic, Slovenia and Lithuania. At least two students (10%) of this group will be chosen on the basis of belonging to disadvantaged groups. Practice will be provided at the workplaces with the specialization of electrotechnics, electronics, automation and information and communication technologies. Students will provide tasks based on pre-agreed work program under the supervision of mentors. Accompanying person will be present abroad with students' group. This accompanying person will be monitoring the participants, solve possible problems and cooperate with receiving partner on development of European cooperation. Benefits for the participants and region will be better prepared graduates, motivated to further education, and thanks to their improved personal profile they will have better chance to work in their specialization and adapt to requirements of employers. Besides these benefits for participants, also their classmates will benefit from this project. Activities realized abroad will be documented by participants in the form of educational presentation, guide or lab. These materials will be placed on the school website and e-learning portal, from where it'll be available for teachers and students, who can get familiar with technologies and work processes used in specialized companies abroad.
