PROJECT
FINISHED
To be able to experience an internship in a vocational education is vital for the student's professional development. It also provides a better understanding of the profession and the environment that the profession is conducted in. To gain more understanding one should also look at other countries and cultures, how they work and what you can learn from them. We want to start this project to give our students the opportunity, while getting an understanding of other cultures and develop themselves, get better self-esteem and also improve their language skills. We want to send five students from the Beauty and Hairdressing program and the Childcare and education program to gain experience of working abroad. Our project partners have good contacts within these professions and can help us with good internships, but at the same time arrange accommodation and provide guidance about London and culture and life in the city. They will be introduced by the project partner about practical matters in London and be prepared for their internship. An accompanying teacher will also visit their work placements and ensure that the students have a good placements and look for other needs. They will also meet a mentor provided by the project partner during their internship, so their work will be monitored.
We believe that the students will gain better insight into their professional field and more understanding of other cultures by doing their internship abroad. They can use their experience in their future professional life and share it to classmates, teachers and future colleagues.
