"Expand Horizons" is the name of the project which exchange will take place in Croatia, Fužine and Zagreb from July 31 till August 8, 2016 (8 days in total). The whole project will start on-line in May 2016 and will end in September 2016. It will involve 4 partners from Poland, Sweden, Portugal and Croatia. APV is planned for June 2016.Coordinator and applicant is NGO Jablani (Poplar Trees Association) from Zagreb, a non-profitable, non governmental organization for promoting civil society values among children and youth. Partners are Zespol Szkol w Karczmiskach from Poland, Ung i Kungsbacka from Sweden and AEVA - Associação para a Educação e Valorização da Região de Aveiro from Portugal. The project aims are to improve social and civic competences of young people in and out of the refugee crisis in the EU.The main themes for the activity include EU Citizenship, EU and cultural awareness, democracy, active youth participation, and healthy lifestyles promotion. The participants will be divided into smaller (mixed) groups and attend workshops, learning various critical thinking, communication and social skills, learning how to became more tolerant, open-minded and active citizens using simulation, role-play, debate, reflections, conflict resolution, cultural activities, interactive workshops, volunteering actions, sports, open air activities etc where variety of non-formal and informal methods as games will be used. Project will promote healthy life styles through healthy habits, healthy food, yoga, sports and other outdoor activities as hiking or cycling. Youth will learn about new Erasmus + programme, EU opportunities for youth and become aware about own learning process and key competencies developments. In the learning process they will present themselves and their countries as well as learn about partner cultures and traditions, promoting mutual understanding and tolerance and learning by doing what active European citizenship really means.
