Exchange of Best Practice in Migrant Education

This is a job shadowing project to exchange best practice between Eiran aikuislukio and two Adult Education Institutes in Copenhagen, Vestegnen and Efterslægten. Eira and Vestegnen will both be sending and hosting staff, while Efterslægten will be partcipating as a host organisation only. The context of the project is the cooperation between these institutions dating from the Spring of 2012.
Eira's objectives are to improve the provision of adult immigrant education in the areas of dyslexia testing and support, integration programmes, retention schemes and mentoring.
Participants from Eira will be six teachers and counsellors chosen for their expertise and interest in the project areas.
The project will consist of three job shadowing periods each of one week in length. One will take place in the autumn of 2015 and two in the spring 0f 2016. Each job shadowing assignment will be open to two partcipants. Two job shadowing assignments will be at Vestegnen and one at Efterslægten. Eira will also host staff from Vestegnen in the autumn of 2015.
Eveliina Hytönen our Communications Officer will accompany staff to Vestegnen in the autumn of 2015 to document the experience.
The long term benefits of this project are envisioned to be better ties between the institutions involved leading to further exchenge of expertise. The immediate impact is expected to be improved provision of services to adult immigrants in the areas of dyslexia testing and support, integration schemes and rention schemes.
