The project is a partnership between Colectivo GENTES (Spain), Centrum WspolpracyMlodziezy (Poland), Associazione di Promozione Sociale JOINT (Italy), THE ASHA FOUNDATION – ASHA Centre (UK – England) and Youth Association DRONI (Georgia), to develop Youth in Action program, actually a Key Action 1 about Learning Mobility of Individuals project from Erasmus+ program (up to 12 months). In Jaén international youth volunteering has low rates of participation, so the development of the social purposes of cohesion and solidarity is difficult. COLECTIVO GENTES was born with the aim of covering this need. Project aims: - Promote Erasmus + program and mobility opportunities in the province of Jaén. - Provide volunteers with an experience of multicultural and intercultural learning and European citizenship knowledge. Main themes of the activities: - European awareness. - Non formal learning methods. Activities undertaken during the project: - Organizing information sessions, workshops and making visibility of the Erasmus+ program in the province of Jaén. - Covering the personalized attention of youth of the province of Jaén with service information, care, guidance and derivation in the field of international volunteering in Jaén. - Taking part in different events to diffuse and promote Youth in Action Program (International Volunteering Day at the University of Jaén, EtnoSur festival in Alcalá la Real, etc.) -Collaborating in the diffusion of European awareness programs and promoting European programs among youth technicians in the province. - Writing and applying for Erasmus+ projects of KA1 (TC “Lead 4 Lead” has been already implemented, sending/coordinating two EVS in Russia and EVS “Diffusing Erasmus Plus in the province of Jaén’’ are current projects). - The non-formal education based training course “Removing Linguistic Barriers in English” in two municipalities, Villacarrillo and Huelma, for prospective volunteers. -Implementation of the Erasmus+ Training Course “Lead 4 Lead” (16th -24th September 2015, in Arjona). -Supporting, recruiting, hosting and basic training processes between GENTES and other volunteers and organizations which are demanding volunteering. Activities carried out during EVS project had a big impact on the province of Jaén, its youngsters and youth workers. It also had a great impact on COLECTIVO GENTES, as it helped to improve and diversify the quality of service of the organization.
