“EVS Looking to Future (Springbos 2016)” is a creative project with a combination of three different aspects in it namely: A1: Short term EVS (EVS at Don Bosco Rijswijk (10 April-08 May 2016) in which 8 volunteers with fewer opportunities from 4 countries come to Rijswijk and Amsterdam, The Netherlands for a month, A2: Longterm EVS at Don Bosco Rijswijk (2 February 2016 to 30 January 2017), in wchich 2 Long term EVS volunteers (one of them has serious health problems) come to The Netherlands, A3: Jobshadowing at Don Bosco Rijswijk and in Don Bosco Amsterdam (15 February to 05 Marach 2016) during which one youth worker from an Internally Displaced Organisation in Ukraine make a jobshadowing at Don Bosco Rijswijk and Don Bosco Amsterdam. This project aims to give volunteers and youth worker an experience of Erasmus+ mobility program namely through European Voluntary Service, sharing of beste practices and promoting intercultural learning. The participants will gain knowledge, skills and attitude for life from this project and will get opportunity to work with children (often disadvantaged) and young people. Responsibilities are given to the volunteer, and through daily interaction with other (EVS) volunteers and living together with them, the experience is being shared and learned from. The project will start from the 1st of January 2016. We are sure that this project will achieve a wide spread multiplying effect on other young people, partners and coordinating country which will bring forth a sustainable and long lasting effect and impact! The impact on the partner organisations is also very evident. We see possibilities of strategic partnerships, new EVS opportunities, Exchanges and a learning experience in youth work. Thus the youth worker/leader/ volunteer who go back to their local organisation(level) can be a very important resource for initiating and promoting the possibilities of organizing trans-national group exchange and can be an instrument in setting up similar concrete work in their own organizations.
